Victor Osimhen’s agent, Roberto Calenda, has downplayed the Nigerian international links to Saudi Arabian side, Al-Ahli.
This comes following Al Ahli’s bid in excess of 65 million euros (€65m) to Napoli for Osimhen. However, according to reports, the 25-year-old has turned down the proposals due to issues with salary and release clause structure.
Meanwhile, Calenda, in a statement on Monday noted that Osimhen is not a product to be shipped out for new arrivals, stressing that the striker’s situation deserves ‘respect and balance’.
“Osimhen is a Napoli player, with a contract recently renewed with mutual satisfaction. He made history and when there were major offers (also this year) we always accepted the club’s decisions,” he said.
The agent added: “As I said, it is not a package to be shipped far away to make room for new prophets. Victor was elected African footballer of the year, eighth at the Ballon d’Or, he still has so much to do in Europe. There is need respect and balance.”
The 2023 African Footballer of the Year is expected to leave Napoli this summer with few days left before the transfer window closes.
